According to a communication that I received today from Steve Preston of DEFRA, the Secretary of State has decided to approve extensions to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. In addition to areas to the south and east of us, this means that much of Crosby Ravensworth Parish will be within the new boundary. Personally, I’m thrilled that our superb local landscape and rich cultural heritage has received this official recognition for its remarkable quality. I was sorry to see that Reagill remains outside the boundary of YDNP despite its undeniable charm.
