My nephews and I greatly enjoyed the joint Church fundraising Spring Concert at Crosby Ravensworth Village Hall this evening. We left during the interval to get the boys home as they had school on the morrow, but if the first half was anything to go by, then I’m sure that the rest of it was great too.
There was a very good turn-out, the music was well selected and the brass band musicians, conducted by Linda Bainbridge performed brilliantly, we thought. Furthermore there were sterling performances by guest musicians Jane Day on Alto Saxophone and Kath Wagnall on Cornet. They were accompanied on the piano by Linda Bainbridge.
We thought the music an excellent selection to appeal to all ages present.
Tea and coffee were provided to accompany a sumptuous buffet spread and the bar served soft and alcoholic beverages. There was a raffle with nice prizes, in aid of St.Lawrence’s Church Crosby Ravensworth.
David Graham MBE served as Maitre de.
After the interval the band played another 6 tunes and Barbara Gilbertson played the violin with piano accompaniment again from Linda.
Linda Bainbridge said she was pleased to see so many people in the audience of various ages and encouraged us to join their band.
