Maulds Meaburn Village Institute Illustrated Talk

 

‘The Tale of Two Squirrels’

 

A talk by Trish Mansbridge from the

Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group

The Red Squirrel Group promotes the conservation of the squirrel

population in their natural habitat.

Trish will speak about the history of the squirrel population in the UK,

the place of squirrels in woodland ecology, and the ways in which

grey squirrels threaten the survival of red squirrels.

She will address local conservation issues such as felling and the distribution of forest areas.

She will also consider human activities, such as road traffic, which are hazardous to squirrels.
